Our House & Team
At ground floor there is a circular marble bar to accommodate the desire for a before or after dinner drink. From the bar you can enjoy the view of our buzzing open kitchen and explore the grand wine cellar displaying among many other spectacular bottles, one of the worlds deepest Dom Perignon collections. Just shy of 3000 bottles, our cellar holds a predominantly french collection of fine wines. From the best producers in Bordeaux, Burgundy & Champagne. Special collected wines from other regions and contries are of course listed as well.
When you are ready, the tables are set upstairs with ironed white linen and silverware. The restaurant is furnished with iconic danish design & art. If you need a pause between dishes you can take a stroll in the herb garden or have a seat in the lounge area on the elevated terrace.
With more than 20 years refining his kitchen, 10 of them with a Michelin star, Jonathan and his team are prepared to cook you dishes with lots of affection and the best sustainable produce. The cuisine at The Samuel is classic, mostly French and South European. Most produce, seafood, game and vegetables are locally sourced in Denmark, co-working with local farmers, hunters and grossists however not restricted by any region; quality and taste are paramount. Period.
Food and wines are precisely equally weighted at The Samuel and our sommeliers are always ready to assist with a perfect wine pairing to your dishes. Jonathans devotion to pairing has been acknowledged with numerous awards such as winning the Copa Jerez 2013 and again at the Copa Jerez 2019; the most prestigious international competition in food and wine pairing, today consulting the Danish Copa Jerez chapter.
Private Dinning
We are able to provide a beautiful chambre separee if needed, perfect for meetings, closing dinners or big family dinners. This room seats from 6-14 guests at a long table and accommodates total privacy if needed.
For bigger celebrations or gatherings our restaurant can manage a guest total of 42 guests.
Human sustainability
At The Samuel we do not take in stagiaires, interns or unpaid students. All staff are paid and on contract working maximum four days a week.
